Inner-City Community Gardens
Building healthy communities by utilizing vacant lots once strewn with garbage into community gardens by creating pockets of green in the midst of the inner city. Community gardens foster physical, social and mental health benefits to its gardeners. Gardeners cultivate a sense of pride in their surroundings while growing fresh organic food and provide a source of beauty and greenery to the neighborhood. These inner-city gardens benefit the neighborhood in all aspects from the local food produced, contact with nature to neighborhood meeting places, a situation that has great lasting benefits to all.
