Greening a Church - Energy/Food
Smart City Idea - Churches are often a hub in a community and located in central locations. Then add that they often have land available and large roofs, they make the ideal location to create a Smart project. The project proposed has a specific Church in mind that can provide large south facing roof and enough land to host a good size community garden. 1) Large garden - to provide food to the local food bank. 2) Reduction program to reduce energy usage LED, etc. Large solar hot water/air and/or solar electric panels to create as near net zero situation as possible. 3) Carshare location and/or recharging location. As a public location it would provide the perfect demonstration location for other Churches to follow.
