plant veggies instead of grass
There is a lot of grass in the boulevards between the street and sidewalks in my neighbourhood. Why not encourage people to plant veggies instead of grass. Quite a few of my neighbours have gardens which are very pretty. Planting veggies and or gardens would eliminate the need to cut the grass and therefore eliminate greenhouse gasses. Veggies would teach the young ones about where their food comes from. We have a couple of wild cherry trees and black raspberry bushes in our neighbourhood. Nobody but myself picks and eats the fruit. When I tell the neighbours, they didn't even know they were edible. We need to educate the young and old that food does not come from the grocery store but from the earth.
