advanced lights
I was a driving instructor for 3 years and have been driving in Toronto for 35 years. All intersections should have advanced green lights for left turns. I have sat in the left turn lane on many occasions for 2-4 lights to turn. They pass a no idling law in this city when it comes to warming your car up in winter, but idling for 4-5 minutes trying to make a left is okay. Advanced left turn lights for a good minute or 2 allows for traffic to move better and reduce immensely the idling factor.
