Gardens for schools
A smart city recognizes the tremendous need to teach children how to live sustainably. One of the most basic skills that we have neglected to teach is gardening. Indoor gardening has evolved to the point where children can learn about the plant lifecycle, grow food, and become active leaders in greening the community from the inside out. The Smart City prize would be enough to design, build and install indoor vertical and tower gardens in 6 schools, which when combined would produce enough food to feed 500 families. Nature is the first teacher, lets bring Nature back into the classroom.
