Minimize impacts on the natural environment now and in the future
Our beautiful town, Port McNeill (BC), is located amongst bears, cougars, wolves, eagles and other wildlife habitat that epitomizes beautiful BC. Unfortunately, we have garbage containers that are open game for wildlife looking for food. Yearly, this results in "problem" wildlife that is put down. The Smart City Project money would be used to invest in "bear proof" garbage containers for town and subsidize individual containers for town citizens. Local prizes would be given to children (and their schools) that paint these containers and best capture the Smart City message
