dedicated bike lane above the street level
the idea of a bike lane is not new; the issue with bike lanes in the street is the danger that mixing bike traffic with car traffic. It is statistically safer to have the bike traffic in the sidewalks, but that also interferes with the pedestrian traffic. So having a dedicated bike lane on the very end or edge next to the street is what should be done. The bikes have their dedicated bike lane but "away" from the street. Just that few inches higher protection will be enough of deterrent for most car/bike collisions to be preventable. The concept I decided to call it side-ride©, for its close name relation with the side-walk...
