water conservation
We waste far too much fresh water and take for granted the supply will always be endless. Why don’t we catch and cache rain water and snow melt from our rooftops into cisterns stored beneath the ground. For those who garden, the water could easily be used outdoors, although such soft water is also lovely for washing clothes. I’d also like to see us – individually, each home - recycle water. For instance, shower and bath water could normally be used to do laundry. Yes, I know some people get very dirty at times, what with working different jobs and sometimes even at play, but the option to dump the water into the normal water treatment process could also exist. Water from washing clothes and dishes could certainly be used to flush toilets.
