Solar energy traffic lights AV-TOR
My idea is for there to be solar powered traffic lights and pedestrian signals. There only needs to be one solar panel at each intersection and the wires can be connected to all lights and signals. In Toronto, there is sunlight throughout the year to power these traffic lights and signals. In the event that there is insufficient sunlight for that week, it can run off of the backup electricity that it has already been implemented for power outages. Each installation should not be too expensive and it can cover a large area for implementation.
