I would love to see part of the gardner being solar powered. It needs to be fixed anyways, why not make one section or a prototype of solar energy. It would produce a great image of our cities future to run on solar energy.

If given 50,000 to implement my idea i would like to see eco gardens in daycares and schools. These gardens are made from eco friendly materials such as bamboo, reused materials, reused wood, etc. children and students would maintain the grounds and participate in maintaining the gardens which would harvest fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants, etc. This idea would be a project on bringing awareness to make our environment more green by instilling green ideas and daily practices into our youth.

I am very passionate about composting and how composting is an important part to sustain and maintain our soil. I would like to see all major developments build a composting program in their buildings to enforce the idea of maintaining our soil. The composting unit can therefore be a part of a community rooftop garden for that development.

I would like to see plastic consumption reduced in Toronto. With 50,000 I would like to put together an eco friendly team to work with huge plastic companies to ensure recycled materials are being used.

I would like to see a solar paneled charge up station in high traffic areas. For example i drive from Toronto to ottawa and Montreal and i would be weary of my electric vehicle to run out of juice. Why not create a solar panel charge up stop where people can charge their electric vehicles on route.

I would like to see an adult outdoor playground implemented in my neighborhood. This would promote people getting outdoors more and using eco friendly materials.

More green plants to cover roofs in the city of Toronto. Vertical plants could be a great option to improve oxygen in Toronto

I would like to see speedometers put on traffic lights to tell you how fast your going and when the traffic light will change. This would help with traffic control and pollution created from traffic.

I would like to see solar paneled streetlights in major intersections to consume energy.

In every universities main entrance should have pads in the floor that capture kinetic energy.

The screens in gyms should be powered by the work out equipment such as bikes, etc.

All tickets issued to people are written/printed on paper. Could we not use a better alternative... Perhaps even electronic tickets? This would save us a lot of paper usage and if other cities/countries adopted this idea as well then it would have huge impact on the environment in a positive way.
